"I want the chair, and I want everyone to understand that the chair is not a punishment."

Tamsin said it in the forge loft two hours after Garron returned from the west road. He had washed the dust from his arms, eaten soup like a man trying to remember he had a body, and given the short version of the ridge report: warm crystals, miners too agreeable, Rael alive, foreman furious, palace buyer gone before blame could find him. The long version would wait until morning because Tamsin had stood from the kitchen table and said she was tired of fear having the only private room.

Now the three of them stood in Garron's loft with the written terms on the chair Tamsin had claimed. No Stone, no bluevein, no warmed plate, and no forge test active below. Door unlatched. Water within reach. Tamsin could stop the scene with "bucket," "pause," or plain "stop." Lina could stop it. Garron could stop it. Nobody would ask Tamsin whether she was sure twice.

Garron looked at the chair, then at Tamsin. "You do not have to watch to prove you accept anything."

"Good," Tamsin said. "Because I am not here as a receipt."

Lina stood near the bed with her hands clasped too tightly. "What are you here as?"

Tamsin took off her shoes and set them under the chair. "A woman who imagined your mouth on him, his hands on you, my own anger in the corner, and then found desire sitting behind the anger with its elbows on the table. I do not know if watching will feel good, terrible, or educational. I want to find out while I still trust both of you to stop."

Garron nodded slowly. "Terms?"

Tamsin picked up the paper. "I sit in the chair unless I choose otherwise. I may touch myself if I name it first. I am not directing you like a stage scene. I am not testing whether you love me by making you miserable. If I call pause, both of you stop exactly where you are. If jealousy speaks, we hear it without giving it a crown. If desire speaks, nobody congratulates it like a well-trained child."

Lina smiled despite her nerves. "That last rule feels pointed."

"You are very easy to congratulate into foolishness."

"Then we have terms."

Garron removed his shirt first because Tamsin pointed at him and said, "I would like a visible beginning." He obeyed only after asking whether the request was a request. Tamsin rolled her eyes and said yes, it was a request, and if he became more careful she would need a second chair for all the virtue.

That made Lina laugh, which loosened the room enough for desire to breathe.

Garron's chest came bare into lamplight: broad, scarred, dust still caught near one shoulder despite washing. Tamsin looked directly. Her breath changed. Lina watched Tamsin watch him and felt heat open low in her belly, sharp and unfamiliar.

"Report," Garron said.

Tamsin said, "Arousal is moderate, jealousy is mild, and curiosity is strong. Appreciation of shoulders regrettably honest."

Lina said, "Arousal is strong from being watched by you while wanting him. From your honesty. From his shoulders, which are not my fault."

"My shoulders decline responsibility," Garron said.

Tamsin sat in the chair. "Begin with kissing. If I hate it, I want to hate a small thing first."

Lina crossed to Garron. "May I?"

"Yes."

The kiss began carefully and then stopped pretending. Garron's hands stayed at Lina's waist. Lina opened her mouth to him. The sound Tamsin made was not pain. Lina checked anyway, pulling back.

"Pause?"

Tamsin's fingers dug into the chair arms. "No. That was desire arriving with terrible manners. Continue."

They continued. Garron unlaced Lina's dress after she asked. Tamsin watched every tie loosen. Lina let the dress fall, then removed her shift. She stood naked before both of them, breasts lifted by quick breath, thighs already damp. The room did not make her feel divided. It made her feel held by two different kinds of attention.

Tamsin's hand moved to her own bodice and stopped. "I want to touch myself."

Lina's knees nearly softened. "I want to see that."

Garron said, "I want to continue only if that does not make the room too crowded for you."

"It makes the room honest," Tamsin said, and opened her bodice.

She did not strip fully. That mattered. Tamsin sat with skirts still down, breasts bare, one hand cupping herself while the other slid under her waistband. Her face was flushed and fierce, as if she had decided pleasure could enter only after answering three questions and showing proper documents.

Garron looked away until she said, "You may look."

He looked. "Thank you."

The thanks made Tamsin's mouth tremble. "Careful. Gratitude is worse than shoulders."

Lina laughed, then gasped when Garron's hand moved between her thighs.

"Fingers?" he asked.

"Yes. One first."

He touched her clit with his thumb and slid one finger into her cunt. Lina leaned into him, eyes on Tamsin. Tamsin's hand moved faster under her skirt. Her other hand pinched one nipple, not gently. Desire flashed across her face and then she looked frightened by how much she liked it.

"Name," Lina said.

"Tamsin. Present. Watching because I choose. Touching myself because I want to. Jealous because he gets your sounds. Aroused because I get to hear them."

Garron stilled his hand. "Continue?"

"Continue."

Lina kissed him again while he worked her open with two fingers. Tamsin watched until her own breathing broke. Then Garron asked for more, and Lina said yes to his cock inside her if Tamsin wanted to keep watching.

Tamsin's answer was immediate and generous enough to hurt. "I want to watch the part that scared me in my imagination."

They moved to the bed. Lina lay back first, then changed her mind.

"I want to be on top. I need to see both of you."

Garron lay down. Lina straddled him, took his cock in her hand, and guided him to her cunt. She paused with the head of him pressing against her.

"Tamsin?"

"I am here."

Lina sank down slowly. Garron groaned, hands gripping the sheet instead of her hips until she placed one hand on her waist and said, "Here. Not holding me down. Holding me where I choose."

Tamsin's fingers moved hard under her skirt. Lina rode Garron in slow, clear movements, each downward slide making her gasp. She watched Tamsin watching. Jealousy did enter the room. So did desire, tenderness, fear, and a strange widening trust.

"Pause," Tamsin said suddenly.

Lina stopped at once with Garron deep inside her. Garron froze, breath held.

Tamsin stared at them, hand still under her skirt but unmoving. "I needed to know the word worked when I wanted you to continue."

"It works," Lina whispered.

Garron said, strained but steady, "It works."

Tamsin let one nod stand in for three sharper comments. "Continue."

The room changed after that. The stop had not killed desire. It had made desire safer to follow. Lina moved faster. Garron's hands stayed where she put them. Tamsin touched herself with her skirts bunched and her breasts bare, eyes wet, mouth open.

Lina came first, shuddering around Garron's cock while looking at Tamsin. Tamsin followed a few breaths later, biting down on her own wrist to keep from shouting. Garron asked for cloth or inside. Lina chose cloth because she did not want one more consequence tonight. He came into the cloth with Lina's hand over his and Tamsin watching the end without flinching.

Afterward, nobody spoke for a while.

Then Tamsin stood, washed her hands, and sat on the edge of the bed without touching either of them.

"That was not proof," she said.

Lina nodded, still shaking. "No."

"It was not a permission slip."

"No."

"It was mine."

Garron sat up carefully. "Yes."

Tamsin looked at him. "You may be very pleased with yourself for exactly one breath."

He took one exaggerated breath.

"Done," she said.

Then her face changed, not toward regret, but toward the kind of seriousness that made Lina sit up despite tired thighs.

"Tomorrow I may feel differently," Tamsin said. "I may wake up and discover jealousy left a boot under the bed. If I do, we discuss the boot. We do not pretend tonight solved the furniture of the future."

Garron gave one slow, forge-steady nod. "Agreed."

Lina reached for her hand. "May I?"

Tamsin let Lina take it. "Yes. Because I want touch now, not because anyone earned it with good behavior."

Garron passed them both water and turned his back while they drank because modesty had become ridiculous and still, somehow, kind. Tamsin noticed with the unfair speed of long familiarity.

"You can face us," she said. "I am not ashamed."

"I know," he said. "I was giving the room a breath without my eyes in it."

Lina laughed until she nearly cried.

Below them, the locked bellows stayed silent.

That silence felt like approval only because nobody tried to sell it.
